Can Gyms & Personal Training Survive a Post-COVID World?

Uncategorized Dec 21, 2020

The future of gyms & fitness studios has been hotly debated for a while.

The question is now cranked up to 11 after COVID.

Even if many can weather the financial storm of closures and lock downs...

The question remains:

Can those studios and coaches appeal to a world that's become accustomed to the easy convenience of workouts at home?

This episode is in part a reaction to Jonathan Goodman’s post below:

He’s the owner of the Personal Trainer Development Center and the creator of Online Trainer Academy.

Jonathan is a brilliant businessman and one I’ve learned much from.

But I’m not in total agreement with him here.

Will gyms and personal training be radically transformed in the near future?

Jonathan seems to think so.

I’m less convinced.

That said, I do believe gyms & in-person coaching will need to adapt in at least ONE major way going forward.

I get into this subject here:

UPDATE: After seeing more of Jon’s comments on his social media posts, and receiving an answer from him to a question I asked, Jon’s reason for making these claims has more to do with new technology in artificial intelligence.

That’s not a subject I’ve researched enough to fully discuss. However, the future of gyms & personal training is still a vital topic and my discussion in this episode is still worth your time and engagement.
